Note for readers: This content relates specifically to schools in New Zealand. Mathletics continues to support curriculum-aligned maths learning globally.

For over 20 years, Mathletics has supported millions of students through engaging online maths learning.

Now, we’re bringing that expertise into print with a complete programme designed specifically for New Zealand schools.

The Mathletics Programme combines printed student workbooks, teacher guides and daily lesson plans with the Mathletics and Mathseeds online platforms.

Designed for Years 0–8, it’s fully aligned to the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum.

Why books and why now?

New Zealand’s education landscape is evolving. The refreshed Mathematics and Statistics curriculum, grounded in the Science of Learning, places a strong emphasis on structured, explicit instruction and a clear progression of knowledge and practices.

That shift calls for resources that give teachers a completesequenced pathway they can follow with confidence, where books and digital learning work together in every lesson.

That’s exactly what the Mathletics Programme delivers.

What’s included

The programme provides everything schools need for structured maths teaching across Years 0 to 8:

  • Student Workbooks (Years 0–8) – Printed, write-in workbooks provided 1:1 for every student, with clearly sequenced lessons that build understanding over time.
  • Teacher Guides – Printed guides with term and weekly overviews, one per teacher, covering what to teach, when and how.
  • Daily Lesson Plans – Downloadable two-page lesson plans with step-by-step teaching guidance, learning intentions, differentiation strategies and links to workbook and online activities.
  • Mathseeds and Mathletics online platforms – Adaptive online learning with real-time reporting, immediate feedback and engaging activities that reinforce classroom instruction.

Designed for New Zealand classrooms

Every resource has been written specifically for Aotearoa.

Content is mapped to the Knowledge and Practices framework of the refreshed curriculum, with New Zealand contexts, familiar settings and local references woven throughout.

The programme spans three learning phases:

  • Phase 1 (Years 0–3): Building strong foundations
  • Phase 2 (Years 4–6): Deepening understanding and application
  • Phase 3 (Years 7–8): Preparing students for secondary mathematics

A lesson structure built on evidence

Each lesson follows a consistent, evidence-based structure – explicit teaching, guided practice and independent application – so teachers know exactly what to teach, when to teach it and how to teach it.

The I Do, We Do, You Do approach is embedded throughout, supported by clear learning intentions, success criteria and differentiation strategies at every level.

The online platforms then extend and reinforce what’s been taught in the classroom, with adaptive pathways that adjust to each student’s level.
