Visual Literacy Sample Lessons – Tour de Cure

As society becomes more reliant on digital mediums, children are being exposed more and more frequently to a variety of images. This creates a great need for students to learn to analyse and interpret visual images.

In this sample lesson pack, based on cycling photographs linked to the Australian charity ride, Tour de Cure, we cover areas of Visual Literacy such as symbols and logos, focus, colour, perspective, context and repetitive elements. Included:

  • Two units of work
  • Eight student activities
  • Teaching notes
