Raise your voice, not the sea level and help celebrate
World Environment Day!
Join 3P Learning to celebrate World Environment Day (WED) on Thursday 5 June. World Environment Day is the United Nations’ (UN) day to raise awareness and promote action for the environment. 2014 is International Year of Small Island Developing States to help raise awareness of the impact of climate change on small islands and the need to help protect them against the associated risks and vulnerabilities.
The impacts of climate change and in particular of raising sea levels are highly concerning for nations like Australia and our neighbouring islands given that over that last 100 years sea levels have risen by about 10 to 25 cm. At this rate, the Maldives could be completely under water in the next 400 years.
Looking for ideas of ways to celebrate the day at you school?
Jump onto the WED website and have a look at their suggestions.
