The first annual mathematics event was held the week of October 25 2010, uniting more than 30,000 students from over 550 schools across Canada aged 5-18 in the quest to set a world record in answering math questions.

Question sets were prepared in five categories for the Basic Math portion: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and simple equations. In each game, the student had one minute to answer as many questions as possible.  Students were matched in real time with other students of similar ability. 1,441,481 question were answered during Challenge week. Students also answered questions related to the curriculum which covered all strands of mathematics.

Well done everyone!
