“I HEART THE REEF” in Australia

This year, Earth Hour Australia is turning Earth Hour on its axis, using the power of Earth Hour to shine a light on one of the world’s most loved – and vulnerable – places: The Great Barrier Reef.

The Great Barrier Reef is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, but it’s future is uncertain. Climate change is raising ocean temperatures and making seawater more acidic, threatening the survival of the coral and the animals that call it home.

The Earth Hour community is taking action to tell Australia’s Prime Minister that if we don’t act now, the effects of climate change on our reef will be irreversible in just sixteen years.

Moments of Darkness: What do you think about during Earth hour?

The Canadian Earth Hour campaign is encouraging the public to make a minute of their day – and share what they will be thinking about during Earth Hour.

Spiderman in Singapore

Spider-man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx and director Marc Webb will be present to switch the lights off across Sinagpore’s signature Marina Bay skyline, sending a message from Singapore to the world that anyone can be a Superhero for the planet.

Super Sports Star

The Members of Wales’ international rugby squad are leading the way, asking the country to make a #WelshWish for a sustainable future for children and grandchildren in the country.

“We are proud to support the Welsh Wish campaign as part of Earth Hour, because it is about Wales coming together to support a brighter future,” said Wales rugby captain Sam Warburton. “WWF’s Earth Hour is a celebration of our planet and we need to ensure the beauty is there for future generations to enjoy”.
