For the past couple of years, we’ve been growing the community of Aussie teachers who have become certified with Mathletics!  At last count there are now nearly 500 teachers across Australia who are loving learning with Mathletics Teacher Certification.

We really love the way Ellen Bowen from Wamuran SS describes it:

“I feel this is brilliant to acknowledge and promote as professional development for teachers. We already do the work and to now have recognition via the certificates is brilliant for both personal and professional validation of the work we do. In Queensland we have a set number of professional development hours to remain registered as a teacher, this is a brilliant way to complete some of those PD hours!”

There is a real buzz being generated and we are excited to continue our support of teaching and learning  across schools.  That’s why we are inviting your participation in this year’s Teacher Certification Challenge.  The Challenge requires teachers to get Mathletics certified and asks for your reflection on:

How Teacher Certification has impacted teaching and learning in your class or in your school?

What’s in it for you?   We are celebrating professional learning with this challenge so we are particularly delighted to be awarding two prize winners, drawn on 30 April and 30 June.

So who can participate?  All teachers are encouraged to take part, whether you are brand new to Mathletics, you’ve been using it for a while or you have already started certification and are ready to undertake the next level.

What do you have to do?  Just print your certification pack (you’re already using Mathletics with your class!). Find all the support you need via the Training Portal and submit your assessment online. It’s as easy as 1 2 3.

What else should I know?  All valid entries will be evaluated with the best two responses selected to win a prize.  So besides earning teacher-identified PD hours, certification gives you a chance to win.  Multiple entries are eligible so achieve all three certifications levels if you wish.

What can $250 PL voucher be put towards?   A conference, teacher resource, in-service or seminar.  Get more ideas from AITSL’s PL and P&D
