The Love Learning Conference is back for 2014

Each year, 3P Learning is proud to host our Love Learning Conference, aimed at challenging teachers and educators to look differently and creatively at teaching and learning.

The Love Learning Conference provides a unique opportunity to explore contemporary ideas from across the global education sector. Attracting a variety of delegates from principals to teaching graduates, the conference offers a diverse and interactive program of workshops from a range of leading teachers and presenters, each sharing fresh insights and innovative education practices. We can guarantee that every delegate will leave with an armful of strategies, tips and tools for the classroom.

New for 2014… 3P Learning are expanding the event in 2014 to become the Love Learning Conference Season, with a series of one-day events across Australia, leading up to the flagship dinner and final day of workshops. So you can attend your local event, join the national event in Sydney – or do both. Either way, these are sessions not to be missed.

We are passionate about learning and this is a PD opportunity like no other. I look forward to welcoming you.

The Dan Meyer Sessions

As a part-time Googler, provocative blogger and friend of 3P Learning (not to mention a full-time High School maths teacher), Dan Meyer’s perspective on curriculum design, teacher education and teacher retention is informed by tech trends and online discourse as much as front-line experience with students.

“Intellectual Need in the Maths Classroom”

The Dan Meyer Sessions will describe research based methods for instilling in students a need for new learning. Participants will learn how to make the problem solving proficiency strand accessible to students, resulting in engagement and higher achievement.

“Beyond Busy”

Engagement is one of the most over-used words in education. It’s also one of the most commonly misused. In his keynote, Dan will explore some of the key concepts that underpin engagement, and explore how schools can incorporate them into their communities in order to genuinely engage kids in their learning

Stephen Harris

Stephen is Principal of Northern Beaches Christian School (NBCS). In 2005, Stephen founded the Sydney Center for Innovation in Learning (SCIL), as an active innovation and development within NBCS. His vision was to embed innovation into everyday school practice.

“Shifting the context of learning: From separate to connected”

The move away from the factor model of school towards building a community of learning brings with it the challenges of changing the context, approaches and paradigm for learning. Stephen Harris’ keynote will inspire educators and school leaders to think afresh about the pedagogic, physical, virtual and cultural spaces for learning.

A number of a of fantastic workshop presenters ranging from teachers to professors, senior lecturers, passionate educators, researchers and consultants.

“I can genuinely say I have never attended such an inspiring and empowering set of workshops. I sometimes attend sessions and come away thinking “well how can I apply that to my classrooms?” – but not this time! So many ideas shared, so much to think about – and all of it actionable. I’m definitely returning next year. Thank you!”
