For 2016, we have reviewed and updated our courses based on the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics for Foundation to Year 10, as well as those based on the NSW and VIC adaptations of the national curriculum. These up-to-date courses have been restructured to make them easier to navigate, and include our latest activities.

In addition to updating courses, we have also retired 97 courses, most of which were based on old state-based curricula. We hope that this makes it easier for you to choose the right course for your students and to ensure that you are using our latest content aligned to current curricula.

Below is a summary of course changes for 2016.

For schools in ACT, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, WA

Courses based on the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics F–10

F–10: Courses with name format ‘AUS Yr ## Aust Curriculum’ will be updated for start of 2016. These will be the default courses for Foundation/Kindergarten to Year 10/Year 10A.

In addition, textbook-aligned courses will be available in a format we believe is suited for the following textbook series*:

  • Essential Mathematics for the Australian Curriculum (2nd Edition) published by Cambridge University Press**
  • Nelson Education WA Maths for the Australian Curriculum published by Cengage Learning Australia Ltd***

Note: If you previously used the Queensland C2C EQ courses, please note that these courses have been retired. Since the C2C program is based on the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics F–10, we believe that our updated Australian Curriculum courses are an appropriate replacement for the old C2C courses.

For schools in NSW

Courses based on the NSW Mathematics K–10 Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum

K–6: Courses with name format ‘NSW Yr ## Syllabus for the AC’ (eg NSW Yr 02 Syllabus for the AC) will be updated for the start of 2016. These will be the default courses for Kindergarten to Year 6.

7–10: The default course for Years 7 and 8 is the stage-based course ‘NSW Yr 07&08 S4 Syllabus for AC’. This course aligns Mathletics activities to the content of Stage 4 of the NSW Mathematics K–10 Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum.

The default course for Years 9 and 10 is the stage-based course ‘NSW Yr 09&10 S5.1-5.2 Syllabus for AC’. This course aligns Mathletics activities to the content of Stages 5.1 and 5.2 of the NSW Mathematics K–10 Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum. There are alternate Mathletics courses for students studying a Stage 5.1 pathway or a Stage 5.1–5.3 pathway.

As programming within each Stage varies from school to school in NSW, we suggest that teachers use ‘show/hide’ feature to hide the topics that they do not intend to study with the year levels/classes that they teach within each Stage.

In addition, textbook-aligned courses will be available in a format we believe is suited for the following textbook series*:

  • Cambridge Mathematics NSW Syllabus for the Australian Curriculum published by Cambridge University Press**
  • New Century Maths for the Australian Curriculum NSW published by Cengage Learning Australia Ltd****

For schools in Victoria

Choose from courses based on AusVELS or the new Victorian Curriculum.

F–10: The default courses for Victoria are those with name format ‘AUS Yr ## Aust Curriculum’ which will be updated for the start of 2016. However, Victorian schools may opt to use the Victorian-specific courses below.

Courses based on AusVELS will be updated and remain available in Mathletics for 2016. These courses have the name format ‘VIC Lvl ## AusVELS’ (eg VIC Yr 02 AusVELS).

New courses based on the new Victorian Curriculum: Mathematics have been created for 2016. These courses have the name format ‘VIC Lvl ## Victorian Curriculum’ (eg VIC Lvl 02 Victorian Curriculum). Please note that these courses do not contain activities that relate to content descriptions about coding/programming at present.

In addition, textbook-aligned courses will be available in a format we believe is suited for the following textbook series*:
