Budget looking a little stretched?

The team at 3P Learning is on hand for advice and information on accessing additional funding to finance a school subscription to one of our resources. Our programs are designed to target a number of different educational objectives and as such are well qualified for certain forms of funding.

The Pupil Premium

What is it?

3P LEARNING students1

The Pupil Premium (or “PP”) is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers, from Reception to Year 11. PP funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools.

Who is eligible?

The Pupil Premium is designed to raise the attainment of disadvantaged students. Schools will receive funding for each child that is currently eligible for free school meals (or has been in the last six years).

What is required from a school?

The Department for Education holds headteachers and school governing bodies accountable for the impact of their Pupil Premium funding. Each school must prove that they are using their Pupil Premium funding in the most effective way, via Ofsted inspections and yearly reports..

The Y7 literacy and numeracy catch-up premium

What is it?

3P LEARNING students2

Put simply, additional funding made available to help schools provide support in literacy and numeracy.

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium provides schools with an additional £500 for each year 7 pupil who did not achieve at least level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of key stage 2. It is provided to all state-funded schools with a year 7 cohort, including special schools.

How can funds be accessed?

Schools should assess the needs of their individual pupils to decide the best way to use the funding – and select programmes and approaches which have either been proved to be effective or are showing early promise.

Effective use of funding to support catch-up may include purchasing services to add to those provided by the school, for example computer-based learning..
