Simple explanations: Java

Technology can be complicated. Luckily we’re here to help with some plain English explanations. Here are the facts about Java.

Some elements of 3P Learning resources, for example the Interactives within Mathletics and our CommonCoreVisuals website, use Java – a piece of software that enables us to deliver our rich and dynamic content online.

Most modern computers, both PC & Mac, will come with some form of Java software installed – meaning users will be able to access 3P Learning resources without any problem at all. However, it is important to check you have Java installed (and the most up to date version) or you may not be able to access those 3P Learning resources that require it.

Not sure if you have Java installed?

JavaTestNo problem. Simply click the button below and your browser will tell you which version of Java (if any) you have.

You will receive a pop-up message (as shown left) followed by a message telling you your Java status. If required, you will also be able to download (for free) the most up to date version of Java to your computer. Note: you may require the assistance of the IT Administrator/Support Manager if attempting this from within a school network.
