We were recently very pleased to welcome all students and teachers at Cairo English School into the Mathletics family – part of a rapidly growing community of Mathletics users in Egypt. The school will also be subscribing to sister programs Spellodrome and Reading Eggs, so a great new suite of resources is now in use right across the student population.

The school recently took part in the Mathletics Middle East Maths Challenge – and to great success too, collecting over 1million correct answers over the two days, a fantastic achievement!  Teacher Miss Brogan said “we also held our own In-House challenge for students within the school, to see which class could achieve the most points, and reign as Cairo English School’s top Maths Class for 2012.”

The competition was intense with 28 classes competing for the grand prize – a pizza lunch party! At the end of the challenge, it was a close contest between Miss Brogan & Mr. Nicholls’ class 7MN and Mr. Mitchell’s rival class 7JM. After two days of exciting maths-based battling, Year 7MN narrowly pulled through ahead with 158,000 points, over 7JM’s 150,000 and received the pizza party! Well done guys! (But did you save us a slice? No? Hmmm…..!)

Ms Grogan said “a big thank you to  Miss.  Dean at the school for all of the organization behind setting up Mathletics. We had a lot of fun and learnt a lot of Maths!”

Check out the photos from the post-event celebrations below. We’re sure that CES is going to be working hard to become one the world’s top Mathletics schools – look out for them on the Hall of Fame and in your next game of Live Mathletics!

When the pizza prizes arrive everyone was extremely happy!

The girls enjoy the great taste of success (apparently success tastes like cheese!)

The boys were so grateful they even volunteered to clean up!
