Welcome! School students from the countries across South, Central and Latin America are invited to represent their school and country in this FREE and FUN online math competition. This event is open to schools only.
Bienvenidos! Invitamos a todos los estudiantes de los países Sudamericanos y Centroamericanos para que representen a su escuela y a su país en el concurso de matemáticas en línea, el cual es gratuito y divertido.
Students will compete in live, multi-player math challenges on numeracy facts and also are challenged in self paced adaptive curriculum questions.

The first, second and third placed schools, classes and students in each division will receive a Latinoamérica Math Competition Trophy. Please note that only official schools and students with accounts attached to official schools will be eligible to win a trophy.
All students who earn over 1000 points during the warm up period or the competition will be awarded a digital bronze certificate.
Divisions are determined as:
Primary Division: Consists of Kindergarten/Prep/Reception to Grade 6 students
Secondary Division: Grade 7 to Grade 12 students
Can I use a iPad to compete?
Yes, you can download the free Mathletics App from the iTunes store. Sign in using your username and password. Please note that not all curriculum activities are available via the app however, all 10 levels of Live Mathletics are accessible via the iPad App.
What is the Latinoamérica Math Challenge?
This online competition is a celebration of math to encourage and inspire students across Central America, South America, and the Caribbean to enjoy mathematics and learning. It is an Official Lead Up Event for the World Education Games that are held in March each year. The competition will run through Mathletics, the educational website for learning mathematics.
How do students participate?
All registered students are provided with a username and password and will have access to the Mathletics website. In Mathletics, students can complete adaptive math activities as well 60 seconds Live Mathletics races! Answering questions correctly earns points for each student, as well as their class and school. Competition open and close times are as follows:

There is no limit on the amount of time students need to participate. Students can compete anytime and any day throughout the competition either at school or at home. It’s about having fun.
It’s FREE and FUN! This is an ideal way to inspire your students by doing something different with math. Engage your students and celebrate confidence with numbers. Students are motivated to improve their speed and accuracy in live games which are suited to varying ability levels.
How to Register?
Teachers, register your school and students by going to the registration page and downloading a registration spreadsheet. Complete the spreadsheet with your students’ names as per the instructions listed, then email the completed spreadsheet to the Latinoamérica Maths Challenge team.
Our school already subscribes to Mathletics, can we still participate?
Yes, your school has automatically been registered for the competition. Students should sign in at www.mathletics.com and their participation points earned during the week will count towards the competition.
Where do students sign in to practice and compete?
All students sign in at www.mathletics.com
What curriculum questions will students answer during the competition?
Students will have a variety of grade appropriate curriculum activities to answer based on the grade level provided by their teacher at registration. Mathletics subscribers will use their existing curriculum activities.
How will winners be announced?
See the Breaking News section for a updates throughout the competition. At the completion of the completion winners will be announced under this section also.
What countries are elgible to participate in the challenge?
The Latinoamérica Math Challenge 2013 is open to all schools from these countries: Aruba, Anguilla, Argentina, Antigua and Barbuda, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, Bahamas, Saint Barthelemy, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Barbados, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Curacao, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), Guadeloupe, Grenada, Guatemala, French Guiana, Guyana, Honduras, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Martin, Mexico, Martinique, Montserrat, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, El Salvador, Suriname, Sint Maarten, Turks and Caicos Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Venezuela, British Virgin Islands and the Virgin Islands.

El primero, segundo y tercer lugar de cada escuela, clase y estudiante de cada división recibirá un trofeo Escolar De La Competencia De Matemáticas Latinoamericana. Todos los estudiantes que ganen más de 1000 puntos serán premiados con un certificado digital de bronce de Mathletics.
