Data Security: Customers come first at 3P Learning (05 April 2018)
Data privacy is paramount to 3P Learning and above all we place the customer, and the students who use our products, at the heart of everything we do.
One of the most popular features in Mathletics and Spellodrome is the Hall of Fame leaderboard, where kids can compete with other kids all over the world and are dynamically ranked in terms of their performance.
While we believe customers should be able to display student performance in the way they have elected, we value and respect customer concerns in relation to privacy and we wish to lead through best practice.
With this in mind we have decided that the public facing Hall of Fame will now only include the school name and grade. We think this will still give students and schools the public recognition they love and deserve and at the same time give all of our customers peace of mind knowing that student information is safe. The Student Hall of Fame will still be available for students that are logged into their Mathletics or Spellodrome account. We are in the process of implementing these changes and expect the Student Hall of Fame to be back very soon.
3P Learning recognises the important role that parents play in supporting their child’s learning. We welcome any opportunity to include parents in the use of our products by their children at home and to help schools to communicate with parents about the school’s use of our products. For example, we are currently working with our EU based school customers to help them prepare for, and manage, disclosures for the purposes of GDPR compliance (new privacy regulations with effect in the EU). Parents can also get a closer understanding of their child’s use of our products by going to 3plearning.com/parents.
Should anyone have any concerns, we’d really love to hear from you. Please use the contact details available at 3plearning.com/contact. Thank you for continuing to support our mission in our love of learning by bringing fun, engaging and educational products to students all over the world.
