After a week of dominating the World Hall of Fame in Practice week, Kiwi students launched off at 9am (NZ time) on the 2010 NZ Maths Challenge to add, subtract, multiply, divide, factorise and equate their way onto the Hall of Fame.

Pitt Island School in the Chatham Islands took an early lead in the Top School placings and Willem E from Queenstown School streaked to number 1 in the Top Student Hall of Fame. Willem is now battling it out point for point with Nithi P from St Mary’s in Christchurch. Mr Pirihi’s Year 7 class at Glenavon School in Auckland are a comfortable 20,000 points ahead although Mrs Bradley’s class at St Mary’s School in Christchurch are making steady gains. It looks like her students are doing nothing but Maths today!

Remember to take some regular breaks. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
