Pitt Island is the second largest of the Chatham Islands, that lie 800km to the east of mainland New Zealand. Pitt Island covers an area of 62 sq km and they boast a population of 45.

The students of Pitt Island School are very keen Mathletes and it is wonderful to see their endeavours celebrated on the Hall of Fame.

We received an email from their Principal, Mr Graydon, this morning:

“Wild celebrations erupt on Pitt Island, as they take the lead off St Marys School!!

Even this morning at the wharf, a cray fisherman called out, “I hear you guys are doing awesome at a maths thing.

We are having theme days each day during the week, to create a fun, exciting atmosphere in the classroom.”
